Wanting an update to their brand identity, Native Cold Pressed—an organic cold pressed juicery—wanted to show customers they’re the juice of choice in Columbus.
We wanted to give the cleanliness of their brand a large sense of vitality, so we readdressed the mentality of the customer with elegant simplicity. From detailed illustrations, to minor logo updates and menu transformations, each element was handcrafted to tell an honest, organic, informative story.
In the end, it’s Native's juice that gives customers a reason to be healthy.
VSX | The Color Run
Corresponding with the expansion of the Victoria's Secret Sport line of products to a global audience and a rise in organized fitness events, the VSX/The Color Run branding was needed to introduce the partnership.
We worked to develop a concept portraying the vibrant voice of The Color Run and the strong VSX brandmark, cementing the bond between the two entities. As our key messages and launch materials spread throughout the fitness community, we wanted to build on the various event platforms to further engage the audience digitally, in print and in person. The prototypes shown were meant to be tailored to meet specific client goals.
Victoria's Secret Sport
Due to the growth of the sport line and a continuous strive for newness, an updated narrative to Victoria's Secret Sport was needed to introduce the brand to a new and larger range of customers. After extensive competitive research and image selection I was able to establish a stronger voice for the sub-brand and support with multiple marketing deliverables over the course of a year. This includes seasonal photography directions, window images, mood boards, CRM and updated garment marketing.
Pelotonia Internal Marketing — 2011 & 2012
Internal marketing campaigns for Pelotonia [local annual fundraiser for "life-saving cancer research"] 2011 & 2012 implemented within the home offices of L-Brands, in both Columbus, OH and New York City.
As a special project for the marketing department, I was given total freedom for creativity. I chose to implement design materials that would draw the most attention to high-traffic areas within the office space. This included but was not limited to elevator wraps, large-format banners, light-boxes, as well as window and floor clings.
Ohio Univ. — MFA GD
A poster designed, printed and installed for Ohio University's Graphic Design MFA department. The graduate’s work is centered around the methodology of learning how to learn/focus. In order to keep in parallel with this ideation I applied the necessary information into an over-sized, distorted eye chart.
2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is the world’s most celebrated fashion show. Every invite, ticket, program and building wrap was developed in a sexy, powerful and fun style to capture the theme of this event being "the sexiest night on television"—designed to emulate the angelic feeling in every fashion show attendee, while cherishing the legacy of Victoria's Secret.
Type As Shape
"Lets talk of a system that transforms all the social organisms into a work of art in which the entire process of work is included... something in which the principle of production and consumption takes on a form of quality. It's a gigantic project." - Joseph Beuys
Typography, as a whole, is a highly influential art form. In order to better understand it's authoritativeness, I randomly paired an assortment of letters and numbers; only to dissect and transform them into individual pieces of art.
Not only did this exercise exhibit a better understanding of the typographic "system" but also the creation of quality letter forms.
Una Colaboracion Tipografica
While studying abroad in Cholula, Mexico, I encountered a surplus of found type. I was immediately drawn to the graffiti that covered nearly every surface possible. Being completely surrounded by this foreign typography led me to study this design element during my sophomore year.
Transforming itself from a deep study of the typeface Syntax into a context primarily focused on the interaction between established typography and that of the hand-painted.
